SLAMMIN GLADYS- "Two"

SLAMMIN GLADYS- "Two"

Interesting album somewhere between classic American hard rock in the vein of AEROSMITH,Ted Nugent and the 90s alternative metal rock scene (BANG TANGO,KIK TRACEE, SAIGON KICK). with a strong presence of funk, groove along The guys are coming from the early 90s and are along those that grunge put aside as they were not hype enough and more hard rock than they should be.

Nice songs, strong delivery a singer , Dave Brooks, who has his own voice, in the vein of the great ones, quite distinctive and some nice songs that can always decide if they want to be stadium anthems or small bar jukebox heroes. The band has a touch of FM rock and modern sound, check the opener "Toxic lover" or the more country/hard rock 'Ice water"with the flavor of early AEROSMITH everywhere in it. The funk and the groove in general are all around the album, 'Dragon eye girl' is such an example even better, groovier and funkier the excellent "Light up"a song that could be in any Steve Salas Colorcode  or Dan Reeds album. A ballad in the vein of the tear jerking big ones of the 90s "Durango' and everything is in place.
SLAMMIN GLADYS are a breath of fresh air in a genre where everyone copies the past without remembering the joy of playing or listening to music.

Rock, funk, sleaze and modern sounds blend in a mix that makes us want to put on our dancing shoes.
