Popa Chubby-"Tinfoil hat"

Popa Chubby-"Tinfoil hat"

Blues, soul the well known guitar wizardry of Popa chubby and songs about everything. From the opener "Tinfoil hat' and the conspiracy theories to the far more targeted 'No justice , no peace' about the racial violence in the USA. Poppa knows how to make the music flow, based on the twelve bars and all its variations and being traditional and at the same time attractive. The groove and the passion are well spread in this album that is fueled by the fire of an urban bluesman who looks around him in these times of social turbulence. Blues for the 21st century is what you get here. No limits, no restrictions, just music and lyrics in the vein of Bob Dylan , to provoke your mind and make you ask for answers.

"Can i call you my friends' is a fine example of modern blues with productive rhetoric , soldiering music against injustice and indifference, isolation and  social apathy. On the other hand you have the rock n roll origins at "You aint shit" to give a wink to the listener. A great album that is not afraid to speak its own truth without being didactic.More heavy at songs like 'Another day in hell" he pays his tribute to Jimi Hendrix who influenced him equally as the blues masters. Reggae at 'cognitive dissonance' with lyrics that demands and gets your attention. Music for blues lovers and open minded people at the same time with the sign of Popa Chubby all over it.
