Christopher Shayne-"Ten high"

Southern rock can lose itself in today's formulas that are mostly based on standard, worn off ingredients , lacking imagination and built on old sounds refurbished. Christopher Shayne on the other hand knows his craft well. Straight out of Phoenix comes to Southern rock genre, as fresh air in the Arizona desert.

This ep is exactly spot on the ingredients, the amount and the time to cook his Southern recipe. A few good measures of honky tonk rock n roll in "Ten high", some 60s British rock (FACES, SMALL FACES, HUMBLE PIE), the ZZ TOP, Texas groove "Pour the bottle', the laid back feeling of ALLMAN BROTHERS and the FM friendly , country spiced sound of the contemporary rivals CADILLAC THREE, BLACKBERRY SMOKE,Markus King, Robert Jon & the wreck in songs like "Any given Sunday". Hard rock and Southern fusion at "Give a damn". His voice got the power, the vibe, the swing and the groove to make a decent song sound like a great one.

If you drink your bourbon straight, wear your boots inside your old worn blue jeans and like your music loud , proud and with a touch of heartbreaking melodies, Shayne knows how to deliver more than decent songs and light up the night.
A honest Southern rock n roll album for the rednecks at heart and more.
