US power metal comes back with a vengeance. In this their fifth release, JUDICATOR offers an album for those who like their metal, speedy, solid and melodic. In the veins of SAVAGE GRACE, LIEGE LORD, IRON MAIDEN, BLIND GUARDIAN, they release metal riffs in waves aiming at the listener. A touch of HELSTAR and the vocal lines that really mesmerizes the listener are among the album's strong points.
This is a concept album based on the life of Belisarius the famous Justinian's general who fought to establish the Eastern Roman Empire that we now call Byzantium. If heavy metal invented in the UK and interpreted in the US is your flavor of the day, 'Let there be nothing" will carry you to Constantinople and even further, to the distant galaxies where metal imaginary and riffing can travel you, for metalheads and history lovers only. An album that restored my faith in epic metal after years of endless dragon slaying and barbaric tales of sword and magic diminish my faith to it.
