Lucero- "When you found me"

 Lucero- "When you found me"

I've been listening to this album for the last few months and still can't find the way to start the review. Ive read they think of LUCERO as modern americana, country or whatever. The opener 'have you lost your way' starts with a PINK FLOYD ish repeating mesmerizing riff and an escalating voice and the album goes from there, everywhere. Modern 90s rock, desert rock, americana, outlaw country, ballads, songwriting , roots music, blues, are all here in a unique blend. Sometimes albums work as they should .You need to listen to them to make your own mind and again. It is personal.Lucero has elements of AOR in the way Steve Jones got on his first solo album "Mercy". listen at "Outrun the moon" a pop oriented , beat driven song that longs for airplay. With a different remix it could be a maistream hit.

Lucero are blessed with some astonishing songwriting ability ,listen to th aforementioned song , "Coffin nails' ', "All my life" the raunchy "Good as gone" and the excellent DIRE STRAITS ish "Back in Ohio". The addictive melodies and the songs, something missing from artists in our days, along with the from the depth of the heart feelings, make a modern country/americana/roots music album that leaves you longing for more.
