Robert Jon and the Wreck-"Last light on highway"

These new breed of Southern rock bands are getting stronger and stronger, bigger and bigger. Among them you need to be deaf not to see that Robert Jon and the Wreck stand out . Wearing their southern origins proud on their sleeve, they have ALLMAN as their biggest influence and far less SKYNYRD, ZZ TOP etc. So you can find in their sound all the elements, long guitar solo, harmonies but also soul, gospel, ragtime, swing and a small part of country music to fill  right the puzzle. Along with bands like BLACKBERRY SMOKE, WHISKEY MYERS and artists like Cris Stapleton make their brand of Southern rock "modern" and yet so close to the genres tradition and let the listener enjoy a variety of musical landscapes without getting bored even for a sec. A brand new band and music that sounds equally fresh and familiar and that is their most strong point. Songs like 'Work it Out" , "Can't stand it' 'This time around' and the lengthy 'Last light on highway, part II' are small reminders of how important this band is today for the revival of Southern rock. Female backing vocals, Horns, piano, slide guitars whatever you can name it, you ll find it here, working to add something more to well crafted and honed, honest rock songs. A triumph of good music.
